Master Project in Behavioral Science/ Neuroscience
Automated Evaluation of Social Behavior of Zebrafish
In collaboration with a start-up company (SCITRACKS), we have developed a computer-based set-up that allows us to monitor swimming behavior of multiple fish over an extend time period. The aim of the project is to use the novel tracking software and the innovative recording techniques to monitor social behavior in this widely used laboratory species. A detailed description of social behavior will allow us to assess genetically engineered fish strains for their utility as models of psychiatric diseases.
We are looking for a motivated student with a background in biology, physics, or engineering. A flair for statistics and data analysis is an asset.
