Giulia was born in Monza, Italy. After obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Milano Bicocca, she moved to Switzerland to continue her studies.

She is enrolled in the Faculty of Biology with concentration in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Bioinformatics.

She joined the Gilmour lab in March 2022. She is currently exploring the role of Cadherin switching in fibroblast differentiation during development of the Zebrafish embryo as part of her Master's Thesis work.

During her free time, she enjoys gardening and cooking.
