Paola was born in Lugano, Switzerland. She studied BSc Biology at the University of Zurich, Switzerland and did the Master’s Thesis in Neuroscience at the University of Zurich. During her Master’s Thesis, she investigated the role of erythropoietin in oligodendrocyte and myelin development in the murine CNS.
She then joined the Müller Lab as a PhD student at the University of Zurich, Switzerland in 2018 and is currently investigating the nanoarchitecture of glutamate receptors at the Drosophila neuromuscular junction, and the molecular underpinnings of their transsynaptic alignment to presynaptic active zones.
In her free time, she enjoys ice-skating, reading and cuddling cats.
