“she is proud to be born in the chilean patagonia, enjoys family and friends and loves to dance!”

Marisabel was born in Chilean Patagonia, studied Marine Biology but then moved to Barcelona, Spain to do her PhD in human physiology and specialise in the functional and structural study of ion channels. Her research interest include the study of biophysics properties and pharmacological regulation of ion channels, transporters and membrane proteins implicated in diseases physiopathology. Actually, she study gain-of-function mutations in ion pumps such as ATP1A1 and membrane channels like CACNA1 involved in primary aldosterims in the framework of Rare Diseases URPP ITINERARE program at the UZH, and she is a researcher member at the e-phac facility.
