Alexa completed a Bachelor’s in Neuroscience at McGill University in Montréal, Canada. She then moved to New York City for a PhD with the Tri-Institutional Program in Computational Biology and Medicine, where she studied the role of the RNA base modification N6-methyladenosine in microbes and host innate immune response. She joined the Pelkmans Lab in November 2019 to study the regulation of phase separation in cells.
