Denise comes from canton Lucerne and studied Biochemistry at the University of Zurich. Though she liked the structural biology aspect of her biochemistry department a lot, she was also interested to see how things “a bit further up” work and therefore joined the Stoeckli Lab to pursue first her Master and now her PhD Thesis. Her research focuses on SynCAMs (a class of cell adhesion molecules) and what influence these proteins have on the cytoskeleton. In her free time, Denise likes to do fencing, going to metal/gothic concerts and enjoys the time with her friends and family.
