Moses grew up in Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Switzerland.  Following his fascination by the natural sciences, he moved to Zurich to start his bachelor studies in biology and computational science at the University of Zurich. During this time, he got increasingly more interested in neurosciences, especially neural circuit formation. For this reason, after finishing his bachelor studies, he started the corresponding master’s program at the Department of Molecular Life Sciences. In his master’s thesis he is focusing on the role of cytonemes in neural circuit formation using the chicken embryo and in particular axon guidance at the midline of the spinal cord as a model.
