The “Institute of Molecular Life Sciences” (IMLS), founded on January 1^st 2010, brings together research groups from the Institute of Molecular Biology with the molecularly-focused groups from the Institute of Zoology. Both former institutes have an impressive track record of scientific excellence. The new Institute of Molecular Life Sciences builds upon this tradition, and strives to reach new heights in scientific excellence and international competitiveness. Thanks to its broad and interactive research programs and its strong core facilities, the IMLS is optimally positioned to lead in the quest for knowledge in the molecular life sciences.
